The purpose of the Community Chorus at South Berwick (CCSB) is to: present concerts of fine choral music to audiences in this region, provide dedicated, non-auditioned performing members the opportunity to enhance their musical knowledge and skills, enrich community life, participate in the arts community, and promote choral music.
Now in its seventh year under music director and conductor Dr. Harry Moon the chorus was founded in 1975 by Dianne Colby-Dean. The Community Chorus at South Berwick offers talented singers an opportunity to perform challenging repertoire based on a limited rehearsal and performance commitment. The group was originally organized from South Berwick's church choirs. Since that beginning, the community group has expanded its program, audience, and concert repertoire. The chorus now performs great choral music from the Renaissance to twenty-first century music, including premier performances of commissiond works. Works are performed a capella, and with accompaniment including instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestras.

The current sixty-nine-voice ensemble is composed of musicians currently from Maine: Berwick, Eliot, Kittery, Sanford, North Berwick, South Berwick, Wells, York, York Beach and York Harbor; and from New Hampshire: Dover, Exeter, Hampton, Lee, Newmarket, Portsmouth, Rochester, Rye, and Somersworth. Rehearsals begin each year in September at the First Parish Federated Church, South Berwick. For more information about joining the Community Chorus at South Berwick,
